The Love Game and Playing For Keeps by Emma Hart Review Tour...

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Emma Hart, comes the second book in The Game series, and the story everybody wanted after The Love Game...

She's in love with him.

He's trying not to love him.

One night changes everything.

Aston Banks never meant to get close to Megan Harper - not even for that one night.  Haunted by a childhood he refuses to face, he knew she could break through every wall he'd ever built and tear them down without even realizing she was doing it.

Betraying Braden by starting a relationship with Aston wasn't on Megan's to-do list, but the second she sees a glimpse of someone other than the arrogant ass she's come to know, she can't walk away.

Aston's childhood is worse than Megan ever guessed, but as he tries and fails to push her away, it's clear her love is stronger than the demons that cling to him every day.  And now, because of it, he finally has to deal with what he's buried deep down.

What he doesn't want to face.  What he's fought against for so long

And they have to do it all without Braden finding out.

Keeping a relationship secret has never been harder.

**This book can be read as a standalone novel, but reading The Love Game (The Game, #1) beforehand is advised.**

His challenge?  Make her fall in love with him.

Her challenge?  Play the player

Until life changes the rules of the game.

Maddie Stevens hated Braden Carter on sight.  Arrogant, egotistical, and the playboy of the University of California, Berkeley, he's everything her brother Pearce has taught her to despise.  So why, when the girls challenge her to play the player, doesn't she say no?  She doesn't know either.

Braden wanted fiery little Maddie the second he laid eyes on her - and he'd do anything to have her, hence why he's agreed to make her fall in love with him.  After all, it's the only way he'll get what he wants.  Sex.

But, as Braden discovers, there's more to the girl from Brooklyn than he ever imagined - and he can't help but care about the broken girl behind those pretty green eyes.

Maddie finds Braden isn't just a walking erection - he actually has feelings.  He can be sweet, funny and his good looks don't exactly hurt.  That means trouble - but when her brother Pearce turns up in Berkeley begging for her help, she realizes Braden and Pearce aren't so alike anymore.

And maybe, just maybe, they're exactly what each other needs.

"You okay?"

I shake my head.  "No.  Every time.  Every fucking time he brings her up.  I thought he wouldn't in front of you, but he did."

"He has his own pain," she says softly.  "It doesn't excuse it, but he does.  He feels guilty for what happened to you - that he couldn't stop it."

My mind reels for a second and I look down at her.  "He told you that?"

She nods, letting her hand drop from my back and standing in front of me.  I stop.

"You've never let him tell you."  She reaches up and cups my face.  "He hurts, too, Aston.  You both hurt.  It's not something that will go away, but you can't let it rule your lives.  If you let pain rule you you'll get lost in it."

"What if I'm already lost?"

"You're not lost.  You're hiding, but you're not lost.  I won't let you get lost."

I let my hands come up and rest on her back, pulling her into me.  "What if there's no map?"

"Then I'll get lost with you," she whispers.  "I won't let you let them win, Aston.  I won't let you get sucked in by those demons.  I won't let that happen.  I care too much."

And she does.  I can hear it in her voice.

She wraps her arms around my neck, and I hold her to me tighter, our foreheads resting against each other.

"I'll try, Megs," I promise.  "I can't say I won't, but as long as you're here, I think I'll be okay."

"And you'll talk to your Gramps?  Just once?"

"I'll think about it.  How about we just focus on stopping me from getting lost for a bit?"

"You just need a place to aim for, that's all.  You need a place to go to."

"Go on then."  I smile.  "Give me a place."

"Okay."  She pauses for a second, closing her eyes and chewing her lip.

"I'm waiting..." I tease her.

Her blue eyes open, shocking me with their vitality.  "Aim for the moon, because even if you miss you'll land among the stars."

"I don't need to aim for the sky.  The only star I'll ever need is standing right in front of me."  I brush my lips over hers.  "Maybe the place I need to aim for is nowhere other than where I am right now."

"Maybe I'd go with you wherever you ended up."

"Maybe I'd never ask that of you."

"Maybe you wouldn't need to ask.  Maybe you'll never need to ask me for anything, because I"ll always be here."

By day, New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult author Emma Hart dons a cape and calls herself Super Mum to a terrible two year old and growing bump, due September 2013.  By night, she drops the cape, pours a glass of juice and writes books.  She likes to write about magic, kisses and whatever else she can fit into the story.  Sarcastic, witty characters are a must.  As are hot guys.

Emma is currently working too many books to even count - including Playing for Keeps, the companion book to New York Times and USA Today bestselling novel, The Love Game.  She lives to be busy - unless busy involves doing the dishes, but that seems to be when all the ideas come to life.

**Beware of Spoilers...I tried to make sure not to let anything important out about book 2 but things slip sometimes.**

Book 1:  The Love Game

Between the Game the characters play and the bantering they all do with each other I loved each and every minute of this book.  There was laughing, crying, hitting the computer screen (since I couldn't hit the characters themselves) and yelling at the characters.  I loved every second of the story.  I related well to the characters and the story.

I love a story that you can relate to the story and characters.  This book was one of those stories.  Emma Hart tumbles you into a story full of twists and turns and up and downs.  She puts the good in with the bad, as well as the happy in with the sad.  The story tugs at each and every emotion out there.

If you are looking for a book that not only tugs at your heart but makes you laugh at the antics of the characters, this is one of the best ones I have come across...the sequel is EVEN BETTER!  Maddie and Braden are a great couple and I love how they fall for each other as they play each other.  Then you have Megan who I think is playing both of them and making it harder to not fall in love with each other.  It is a great, great book.

Book 2:  Playing For Keeps

Oh my!  Everything I said about the first book in doubly true for this book.  In the first book Megan and Aston were my favorite characters and I am SO SO glad that I got to learn so much more about them.  In life I am a lot like Megan and I think that is why I was so drawn to her character.  The best part of this book however was learning so much more about Aston.

I loved her use of classic literature in this book as well.  I felt a kinship to Megan through this usage, we actually share the same major in school and favorite classic novels.  I love how she has Aston quote Austen and I believe I read a Shakespeare verse as well.  These things played a key part in making me fall deeper into love with his character.  Megan and Gramps passion for literature made me fall in love with them as well.

In this book you don't see nearly as much about the other characters but everything you learn about Aston and Megan makes up for it.  You are also introduced to their families.  I laughed so hard through parts of this book because these two play their game SO incredibly well.  There are a lot of much more intense and deep emotions in this book and the back story is a little bit harder to read.

While you do not have to read these books in order I recommend it as some of the events in book 1 will help you understand book 2 all the better.

Book 1:

5 out of 5 stars

Book 2:

6 out of 5 stars
I thought this book went above and beyond any other books I have read.  Wow, just wow!

Roxanne Desired...

Title:  Roxanne Desired (Prime Wolf Series Book 2)
Author:  Gena D. Lutz
Genre:  Adult Paranormal Romance
Blitz Host:  Lady Amber's Tours

Waking up fur covered and fanged isn't the easiest thing for a girl to deal with.  Unfortunately, for Roxanne Delaney, that is her new reality.  The only upside is finding herself the bondmate to one hot and sexy werewolf, Nathan Hayes.  The downside; learning to adapt to a primal element that craves the rending of flesh and the oh-so-sweet taste of blood.  Will this shy waitress-turned-wolf rise to the challenges of this new life - one that is now littered with otherworldly creatures hell-bent on destroying her and the people she cares for?  Or will the pressures of a new-found love and difficult battles prove too much for Roxanne to handle?

"What in the hell do you think you're doing?"  I panted out.  I had found myself once again in the training facility.  However, this time I wasn't confronting a couple mutated wolves.  I was flat on my back, on a workout mat, with Nathan's hand shoved down my sweats.  "We are supposed to be working here.  Not screwing around," I chuckled.

"My hand slipped," He said with a sexy grin.

"Oh did it now?  And I suppose you just tripped and fell on top of me as well?"  I countered.

"Now that you mention it, yes...that's exactly what happened.  I have been feeling rather klutzy lately."

I extended my neck, and with great will power, placed a kiss at the tip of his nose.  I wanted to throw caution to the wind and ride the hand rubbing so deliciously against me.  Oh man did I ever, but I forced my body to roll out from underneath him instead.

Nathans forehead hit the mat, and with a low groan, he rolled over onto his back.  He looked up at me with lazy lids, heat filling his eyes.  My heart thumped so hard that the beats echoed in my ears.  He was laid out before me half naked, the long outline of his passion filling the front of his workout shorts completely.  His ripped stomach and chest glistened with sweat.  I watched as he pulled his hand from behind his head and held it outstretched toward me.

Gena D. Lutz lives in the blistering heat of Arizona with her husband and four kids and two very high maintenance dogs, a Chihuahua and Australian Shepard.  When she is not busy writing, Lutz can be found watching the classics, like Charmed and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, marathon style.  Lutz enjoys reading, riding horses, playing poker and looks forward to the day she can travel the world

Emerge Blog Tour Stop...

Title:  Emerge
Author:  S. E. Hall
Genre:  New Adult (MA +17)

Emerge is Laney Walker's story; an 18 year old quick witted, athletic, southern girl who lets few get too
close and uses her sarcastic zingers to deflect most situations.  This is her coming of age journey...starting at a new college, with a new softball team and a quirky roommate, all while living in a co-ed dorm.

One night.

Dane Kendrick.

It changes all which she thought she knew and awakens something, someone, within her that she didn't know existed.

A tale of friendship, loyalty, first love, primal love

This party is actually pretty fun and I like almost everyone here.  Kaitlyn has obviously nominated herself the non-designated driver.  She's chugging drinks down and flirting with every guy here, including Evan.  I'm happy just sitting on my bale by the fire actually giggling a bit at her, when Matt Davis quickly slides in the empty spot Evan left in search of some non-barley based drinks for us.

"Hey, Laney.  To what do we owe the honor?"  Matt slurs.

"You don't owe me anything, but I'm flattered you consider it an honor," I retort, with a snap in my voice.  I"m not oblivious to the fact that Matt has always had a "thing" for me, one I do not reciprocate.  I've often wondered if he's the culprit behind the creepy notes, but he's had an alibi on too many occurrences.

"You want a drink?"

"No thanks, Matt.  How are you getting home tonight?"  He's not a completely bad guy and I for sure don't want to see him hurt.

"I don't know.  Wanna gimme a ride?"

"I didn't drive tonight."

"That's okay; you can still give me a ride."

Oh, isn't he clever?  His drunken innuendo doesn't warrant a response and it's not the right time for Evan to walk up, I assure you.  Matt's legs are dangling in the air before I even register it completely, as he's lifted by his shirt collar in one of Evan's huge hands.

"You've got five seconds to apologize to the lady," Evan growls.

"Geez, sorry, Laney, I was just kidding," Matt musters insincerely.

I don't tell him it's okay, because it's not, but I do say, "put him down, Ev, so not worth it."

"You sure, Laney?  Your call."

"Yes, I'm sure, Brutus.  Put him down and let's take a walk?"  I don't have to ask him twice.  Matt's flat on his ass and Evan's at my side in a flash.  Walking away for a little breather, I latch my arm through his.  "What's up with you?"  I nudge him.

He shrugs.  What's this?  Evan never broods.  He's my rock, my Mr. Grain of Salt.

"Evan, it was no big deal.  Just a drunk comment by a boy scorned.  Why are you stressing over it?"

"I can't stand the way he talks to you.  Not to mention, he's always staring at you and talking about you; he's obsessed.  I don't like it one damn bit, I"m on to him.  If I find out he's the one stalking you..."  He runs his hand through his hair and blows out a breath.  "I'll kill him."

The silence seems to go on forever, but Evan needs a minute to calm down and I don't dare chance saying the wrong thing right now.

"And the first guy brave enough to hit on you, and that's how he goes about it?"

"What does that mean?  Brave enough to hit on me?"

"You really have no idea, do you?"

I just stare at him, my expression reminiscent of my "trying to solve quadratic equations" face.

He sighs and cast his eyes down.  "Laney, you're that girl.  The one guys make up in their head when they put all the best parts together to make one perfect girl.  The man who gets you to actually pay attention, well, he'll be the luckiest guy on the planet, and he'll know it.  All that, and the fact that you never date, is pretty damn intimidating."

There's a flutter in my chest; does he mean I'm the perfect girl made in his head?  Is he intimidated by me?

He moves closer now, I can feel the heat coming off his body.  Yes, Evan, find the courage.  And then his hand is cupping my cheek, and I instinctively lean in to it, a little gasp of air escaping my lips.

I've never imagined this with Evan, it's never occurred to me to even dare hope what he felt for me was more than a protective best friend.  Good thing, I would have done the fantasy no justice.  His thumb brushes my bottom lip and I realize...I could be swinging a bat, casting a reel, and driving a truck all at the same time, but I'm still 100% woman.

I think I speak out loud.  "Are you intimidated, Evan?"

He leans over, touching his forehead to mine as he takes a deep breath.  His nose brushes along mine, his whisper on my lips.  "Not anymore, I"m done with that, and I'm done not kissing you.  All you have to do is say no, precious girl.  But please, please...just say yes."

As I whisper "yes," his mouth takes mine.  His lips are soft and gentle, sending a sizzle throughout me.  His hand glides from my cheek to the hair behind my ear, stroking it slowly, over and over again.  He breaks contact to lean back slightly, meeting my eyes, and a whiny protest from the loss escapes me.  I'm positive he sees a confusing mixture of happiness, shock, and...lust?

"Again?" he asks me in a low grumble.

I leave the question unanswered, putting one hand firmly on the back of his heart, feeling that hard chest and rapid beat under my palm, and pull him hard against my lips.  He groans and steps in so his body is flush against mine as I open to allow him free reign of my mouth.  Our tongues tangle together, knowing each other just as Evan and I do.

My mind is racing as quickly as my pulse, but instinct takes over as my hands move all over him.  His solid arms, firm shoulders, strong back...tight ass.  I can't feel enough of him in this moment and lose myself to the desire consuming me.  His sweet murmurs along my neck, jaw, in my ear spur me on, almost to the point of no return, until loud squeals from the party rip through our haze.

All at once, I remember where we are and that anyone could walk upon us.  It also shames me that I was careless enough to leave Kaitlyn alone this whole time while I fondle my best friend in a field, so I regretfully pull back.  Evan's eyes take a while to slowly open and find mine, but in them I see everything I need to, overpowering any inkling I might have had about regret or embarrassment.  In those blue pools, there's no second guessing, these are not the eyes of my "friend."  I know my Evan, and he liked it.  I really liked it, beyond my wildest dreams that I never had.

"Come on," I say almost painfully, "we have to get back and check on Kaitlyn."

His shoulders slump and he rolls his eyes, but finally grabs my hand and interlaces our fingers.  We've held hands a million times, but never like this.  It feels good, I feel secure, but most of all - I start to believe what people have said here and there in recent years...I feel beautiful.

Evan tugs on my hand slightly, slowing me up some, and turns me to him.  "Laney," he barely whispers, "can you do one thing for me?"

He could say climb Mt. Everest right now and I'd agree.  The look on his face is so sexy and now that I know how that mouth feels...wait, what was the question?

"Yessss?" Am I flirting?

"Can we pretend you're really mine, just mine, Evan Mitchell Allen's, at least for tonight?"

I think of the gentle hand on my cheek, the soft then rougher kiss, the protection from Matt, the #14 on his back every week, the Disney movie marathons, and I say, without a doubt in my mind, "with pleasure."

The smile that spreads across his face and the fist pump I doubt he realizes he's just thrown assure me I should feel as good about my answer as I do.  At least for that all I want?  All he wants?  I refuse to over-analyze right now; this is new, overwhelming, and exhilarating...I'm just gonna ride this wave without worrying; there's a first time for everything.

I'm not sure which of us sets the pace for the walk back, but neither speeds it up.  Once back, still hand in hand, I immediately notice that Kaitlyn is slow dancing with Matt, so she's definitely way past drunk, or maybe he used a better line on her.  Whatever.  As long as I can see his hands, I'll let her enjoy herself.  Evan nudges me, so I look up.

"Dance with me?"  Evan asks with an eyebrow raised and sexy plea in his eyes.

It's "Big Green Tractor" by Jason Aldean in the background; we both love this song.  I nod.

Evan sings the song softly in my ear as we dance.  He has no idea what a good singer he is, and apparently my body just received the memo tonight as well.  All the times we've cruised around together, singing at the top of our lungs, or played iPods while we did not have this effect on me.  Why oh why could this not be the longest song ever written???

When the song ends, Evan guides us to settle in on staggered bales.  Evan sits behind me and I lean back between his legs.  He's pressed against my back and his hands rest on my shoulders, hanging over slightly.  his pinky moves up and down the outside of my arm, lightly, but I feel it.

Oh, do I feel it.

Turning my head to look back at him, I give him a smile.  His own reflects back to me as much happiness as I"m feeling.  it always feels good being around Evan, but something has shifted and now it feels even better.  Consumed by these new stirrings and the cover of the night sky, I'm emboldened.  I place my hand on his thigh and pull his leg in until it's tight against me, hearing he sharp intake of breath.  His body stiffens for a moment and then relaxes with his exhale.

"How long are we staying?"  I ask quietly.

"We can leave whenever you're ready.  I'm only here because you are."  He tucks my hair behind one ear as he says it and I've never felt more feminine in my life.

"I'll be right back," I say as I get up to go wrangle Kaitlyn home.

I secure a ride for Matt, who again apologizes for his earlier behavior, probably because he and Kaitlyn think it'd be a great idea for her to ride with them; which I respond to with a laughing "hell no."

Holding Kaitlyn up as we wait for Evan to bring the truck proves to be a challenge and I wonder how I'll get her past my dad.  Her rancid breath is really testing the duties of friendship right now...and if she pukes in Evan's truck, Lord help her.

"Laney, did you have fun?!"  Kaitlyn shrieks from the backseat when we're finally loaded.

"I actually had one of the best nights of my life.  Thanks for making me go,"  I tell her, casting a sidelong glance at Evan.  So worth it; the smile on his face as he reaches for my hand is one I will never forget.

"Me too, beautiful.  Me too."

Every Rose by Lynetta Halat Feature...

Title:  Every Rose
Author:  Lynetta Halat

What do you do when you realize you were foolish enough to throw away true, unconditional love?
Lorraina Dadney turns her back on her creativity and tumultuous upbringing to embark on a college career that will lead her to law school and to becoming what she values most in life -- a controlled, powerful, respected woman.  When she stumbles upon her childhood friend's artwork, she feels inspired to reconnect with him and her former self.  This onslaught of emotion will send Lorraina into a tale-spin to figure out exactly why she abandoned all that she was, all that she could've been.
Coming from his own chaotic upbringing, Michael falls quickly and deeply in love with Lorraina at a tender age.  Even her rejection can't stand in the way of his obsession.  When she starts to date other boys, however, Michael finally relents, causing him to spiral further into a world filled with violence, drugs, alcohol, and women.  Realizing his lifestyle will only lead to his further estrangement from Lorraina, Michael sets about to turn himself around before going to get his girl.  Michael Bang will have Lorraina questioning everything.

Michael shakes his head and grins at me.  I fight the sudden urge to run my hands through that silky midnight hair of his.  "Always so quick to label and categorize.  I guess that's what will make you an excellent attorney.  Assess.  Label.  Categorize.  Add up the W's."  He leans in a little and whispers, "How about we just go with the flow?  See where it leads us.  Label later?"  He raises his brows, offering my type-A dominant personality a direct challenge.

Caution to the wind, very atypical for me, I reply, "OK.  I'm up for it."  Challenge accepted.  "You?"  Challenge returned.
"You bet, Lorraina,"  he rasps softly.
He leans into my door and places his hands on top of mine.  I'm suddenly quite anxious and ever so grateful for the door between us.  My hands get clammy and my heart races.  Blood races and pounds in my ears, making me feel very much awake now.  One hand moves up to brush my hair from my forehead and moves down feather light until his knuckles brush across my cheekbone and lips.  He pulls his thumb slowly across my lips.  It's excruciating.  It's exquisite.
Both of his hands come forward to frame my face gently, and he pulls me in for a kiss.  A too quick kiss.  It's over before I realize it's even begun.  He gives me a half smile and turns and walks away.

"Michael!"  My voice barely sounds human.  More animal in nature.  It's raw with ache.

He turns and takes two long strides back to me.  This time when he grasps my head it's anything but gentle.  He pulls my lip in and nudges my lips open with his.  All rational thought escapes me.  I mirror his grasp and enjoy the fullness I feel with him in my mouth.  I give as good as I get.  This kiss is nothing like our two before.  I savor it.

When he turns to walk away, I release a long pent up breath.  If he would've looked back, he would've seen that I was the one on my knees now.

For as long as she can remember, Lynetta Halat has lived to read and has written countless stories and plays since she was a young girl.  A teacher by day and an avid reader and closet writer by night, she has always dreamt of penning books that people could connect with and remember; and her first novel, Every Rose, is the perfect catalyst to launch her into the world of publishing.  Her love the English language prompted her to pursue a master's degree in English from Old Dominion University in Virginia.  A self-proclaimed "Coast Girl," she lives in Mississippi with her adorable husband, two amazing sons, and two loveable dogs.  She is currently at work on her second book.

Five years ago, vampires came out of hiding and took over the world.  It was meant to be a quick enslavement but it turned into a bloody battle that brought humanity to the brink of extinction.

Isabelle Bryant is one of the "lucky" survivors, now living in hiding, scavenging for food through deserted towns.

And she's tired of it.

So she's devised a plan:  find the king of the vampires and drive a stake through his heart.

Except that wickedly sensual king Marcus is nothing like the monster she expected.  And while landing on his bed was part of the plan all along, discovering that he might hold the key to humanity's survival certainly wasn't.  The catch?  Saving humanity also means ensuring vampire survival.  It means giving up hope for a return to a human-ruled world.

As sparks fly and hate becomes heat, Isabelle must pick a side -- before the darkness devours them all.

Diana Bocco is a full-time writer and author.  She's been a fan of all kinds of dark creatures since she was a kid.  If it crawls in the night and tugs at your covers while you're sleeping, chances are she's written about it.  It's probably no surprise that she's a big fan of old buildings, urban exploring and things that go bump in the night.

In her other life, Diana also writes nonfiction:  articles, books, and even quizzes for markets such as the Discovery Channel, Yahoo! and Marie Claire magazine.
