Fourteen-year-old Sophronia is a great trial to her poor mother. Sophronia is more interested in dismantling clocks and climbing trees than proper manners--and the family can only hope that company never sees her atrocious curtsy. Mrs. Temminnick is desperate for her daughter to become a proper lady. So she enrolls Sophronia in Mademoiselle Geraldine's Finishing Academy for Young Ladies of Quality.
But Sophronia soon realizes the school is not quite what her mother might have hoped. At Mademoiselle Geraldine's, young ladies learn to finish...everything. Certainly, they learn the fine arts of dance, dress, and etiquette, but they also learn to deal out death, diversion, and espionage--in the politest possible ways, of course. Sophronia and her friends are in for a rousing first year's education.

REVIEW!!
This is the first book of this type that I have read and honestly I enjoyed it. The story had a good pace and while some of it was hard to follow due to the type of book it is I still enjoyed it. I think the idea behind a spy finishing school is inspired and I can't wait to continue with book two immediately.
Sophronia is a young girl who enjoys climbing and figuring out how things work but is then recruited to Mrs. Geraldine's finishing school. However, things aren't always what they seem. Mrs. Geraldine is basically clueless as to what is going on at her own school. This is both an exciting and entertaining book. Sophronia is nothing less than an intuitive girl who is willing to learn the skills they teach at Mrs. Geraldine's but she is also making friends and enemies.
What can possibly go wrong you may ask? A lot. I can't wait to find out what else happens in this series. Can Sophronia keep out of trouble? We'll find out in the next adventure I guess.
